Nevelson Chapel Closes to Protect the Very Public it Serves

It is with a sense of sadness, but also of public duty, that we close Nevelson Chapel until further notice. In doing so, we hope to help curb the spread of the COVID-19 following the state-wide “stay-at-home order” that will go into effect on Sunday evening at 8 p.m.

Nevelson Chapel is a public space, intended to be enjoyed and experienced by all. It serves the public by offering a respite from the stress of daily life, enveloping us in lights and shadows and offering healing to many. So it is especially tough for us to close at a time when we feel it is needed most.

Please stay safe and follow the CDC recommendations, because whatever happens in New York City, happens big. From the bottom of our hearts: take care of yourself,  your loved ones, your neighbors, and the strangers we live amongst.
